 There's gold in them hills!
A unique opportunity for guests to step back into time and pan for that precious mineral everyone loves—gold! They will be taught the techniques and have opportunity to search for gold that way it was done more than a century ago and the recent innovations, too. Your job is to entertain your guests with fun and put them up for the night in one of your 36 sites or 4 cabins. Great fun for the whole family!
23 +/- Acres in the woods along a stream has become a tourist attraction for the area. The 600’ of stream frontage is an attraction in itself. Guests can pan for gold, dig for gold or shop for the gold in the camp store. There is something for everyone at this park. There is a large field used for games. The mine is historical from the late 1800’s, parts of the vein are still in commercial use.
20’ x 20 log cabin is used as the office, retail center and guest registration. It has a nice front porch with a sitting area. The store sells a jewelry, nuggets, rocks and gold dust from the gold mined at the park.
4 total, the largest is a converted 16’ x 16’ tobacco barn with a 10’ front porch. It is air conditioned. Two cabins are wood framed measuring 12’ x 12’ with a 4’ front porch and no bath. The last cabin measures 12’ x 16’ and has a 6’ front porch and no bath.
12’ x 24’ frame and block construction houses a newly remodeled men’s and women’s bathhouse with pay showers, laundry and storage area.
212’ x 70’ 3 bedroom 2 bath mobile home with a living room, dining room and kitchen.
32’ x 32’ wooden barn with dirt floor is used for equipment storage. 18’ x 24’ panning shed is of steel post construction.
The campground is open from March 1 to October 31. The gold mining and panning is available on weekends year round. There is room to expand the campground.
