Closed in 2020, this park previously catered to motorcycle tours in the area. The area features destination motorcycle drives including a very popular one 9 miles away. Sports cars are increasingly touring the area, and this could extend the months of operation past the typical motorcycle riding season. Guests can relax with like-minded folks around the campfire, or on the covered deck overlooking the campground. The area has trails for hiking, biking, and horseback riding. There are rafting and fishing rivers, as well as several lakes in the area.
MOTORCYCLE AND CAR TOURS
For bikers looking for an adrenaline-fueled adventure in the Smoky Mountains, it’s hard to beat the major attraction near this campground. This section of a U.S. Route has become a hugely popular destination for motorcyclists and sports car drivers. This winding mountain road is unlike anywhere else in the world. The park is located 400 yards from the start of famous drive. So it is the unofficial start of this famous drive with several hundred curves. When riders are done taming the beast for the day, they often join the other campers to share tales about the ride with other bikers and drivers who have taken the challenge.
14 cabins in total. All have electric heat and A/C. 13 are wood built structures, one is block built. Smaller cabins range in size from 120 sq. ft. to 256 sq. ft. The larger cabin is approx. 1,400 sq. ft.
2 1/2 bath, 3 bedrooms, with central heat and A/C. Also has a wood stove. Partial basement with roll-up doors. 10’x30’ covered front porch.
