Wineries, multiple golf courses, many lakes. The scenic byway is a designated 220 mile route through lakes, woods and farmlands. Massive glaciers once covered this land; as they melted, they left the area dotted with lakes nestled among hills and ridges. This byway offers several scenic loops and side trips. State parks offer a mix of hardwood forest, prairie and lakes and are good spots for hiking, bird watching and fishing.
