BETSIE RIVER
The Betsie River begins in Grand Traverse County at Green Lake and flows in a southwest direction into Benzie County. It covers 50-55 river miles. This is a prime fishing and floating river.

Sleeping Bear Dunes, Lake Michigan, Traverse City, canoeing, kayaking, lighthouses, wineries, casinos, fishing, bike trails, snowmobile trails, skiing. There are many local events in the area: Festivals, weekly concerts, arts and crafts shows, farmer’s markets, July fireworks in Beulah and Frankfort. Wild mushroom hunting is popular from May to October. Guests can find different varieties such as Morels, Chanterelles, and Chicken of the Woods. Salmon fishing is very popular in the fall.
